What did you do to your TJ today?

I had an 02 WJ V8 for 10 yrs. I regret getting rid of it.

And I found a pic:

My self-employed job requires I drive 365 "nights" a year. Not driving in snow could cause me to lose my job/contract. My WJ was a BEAST in deep snow, compared to my TJ and trying to drive, steer, shift and not hit the 30-40 deer I see every night.

Mine was also outstanding in the snow. I remember one trip at night after work in a hard snow storm through the Cascades for a snowboarding trip. We saw no cars (or plows) for 75 miles on Oregon 138 (by Crater Lake) and were literally pushing snow with the bumper at the pass. We made it to Bend without issue and were rewarded with 24" of fresh powder on Mt. Bachelor the next morning.

I miss a good pow day at bachy. Is 138 the one that goes out towards umpqua hot springs and diamond lake?

That's the one. It can be busy(ish) at times, but at night in the snow, its a fairly remote drive in the mountains.
Edit: Not quite as beautiful these days due to fires :(

I lived in bend for about 4 years. I made it down that way a few times.
You’re definitely in the middle of nowhere with nothing close by. That and Santiam are two roads that definitely get dicey when the weather turns.

I had a 1998 ZJ that would plow through snow. We got dumped on when I was at work once, and by the time I left, I was driving around stuck cars and trucks.

At my off ramp there were three trucks blocking the street digging each other out. So I drove over the median to get around them.

I got stuck in my driveway, high centered in a drift 5 feet from the garage door.

Been kind of busy doing some maintenance things on the 98 TJ: new pinion seals and fresh differential fluid, rebuilt front and rear drive shafts, painted my new replacement exhaust manifold and moments ago I broke out the passenger side mirror to fix the loose ball joint only to break the replacement mirror that wasn't fitting properly. Just an old fart having fun in the shop !
