What did you do to your TJ today?

Did the final adjustments of my control arms after the SYE. Pinion angle is closer to 5°, but I’m getting no vibration. Any more than that and I’m really cramming my track bar into my gas tanks get too much.

Took it for a good test drive and it feels great. Transfer case shifts as it should, no vibration, smooth up to 75 miles an hour.

Got it a little dirty in it’s test run

Watched that and the only thing that bothered me about it was pulling on the ball of the hitch. Those things have pulled out and killed people, very dangerous thing to do.

The one that snapped and killed a man recently garnered national attention.

There was a metal hooked strap that went through a back hardtop back window, the passenger seat and front window once.

Deadly.

This stuff just showed up. Now to swap in the new radio and try to figure out how i am going to get 6x9s or 6.5s into the door. The pods make it look a lot less possible but we shall see. On the bright side my toyhauler is getting the jeep handme down bt radio. Next week i should have the 2nd underseat sub.

You’ll like that sub. I have the same one under my driver side seat. It really gives the sound some real depth

I installed my cam bearings today. The FSM says very little about them and even though they show you how to rebuild an automatic transmission they pretty much say leave the cam bearings to the professionals unless you have proper equipment. That’s a crazy statement considering anything you do on these jeeps requires specific or specialized tools. Needless to say I was a little nervous going in but I had no issues whatsoever. I guess if you have a cam bearing tool it’s just as simple as lining up the oil hole and smacking it in straight. I put a coat of Red Line assembly lube on them for now. I also measured the ring gaps for the compression rings in each cylinder. Everything seems to be in spec so tomorrow I might start busting the old pistons off the rods to make way for the new pistons.

This is why I bought a syn. rope winch, when shit breaks it doesn't go far. We didn't have winches when my friend and I had Broncos we pulled with hemp rope. My friend went into a mud puddle and sunk up to the doors , we had hoops on the frames just tied the big rope through those and I pulled him right out . Pulled him backwards about a 100 ft past being out , all the time him yelling whoa whoa whoa , funny as hell.

Man that is beautiful.

Peeked out the window at my TJ. Whoever said the new strains of Covid are mild like a cold are FOS. I've never been so sick as I've been the past 3 days. :( 😷
Sorry your down from this.
Being sick of any kind sucks.
I tested + last Saturday and was negative by Wednesday.
Basically a head cold.

Apparently I’m so dead inside that even COVID doesn’t want to hang around in there.
