What did you do to your TJ today?

Driving my brother's tuned 3.5 twin turbo F-150 makes me jealous. That engine is a TJ would be dangerous. The throttle response from a dead stop is amazing even with 35s. 🥳

Currently my main vehicle is a 3.5 ecoboost, I’ve owned newer GM 5.3, 6.2, Ford 2.7 and 3.5 in the last 5 or so years. Seat of the pants the 3.5 feels slower/less responsive than the 2.7 ecoboost. Cool thing is the 2.7 is cheaper lol. Try power braking off the line for really impressive throttle response

6.2 off the line with the 10 speed is amazing but I’d prefer towing with an ecoboost. Hated the 5.3 with the 6 speed (don’t kill me LS guys haha)

Edit: I missed the part about your brothers being tuned. Never messed with running an ecoboost so no experience

Took the wife, dog, and tj on a picnic in the Tacoma creek area.

In comparisons I've seen the 2.7 is quicker than the 3.5.

Are you talking both 2.7 and 3.5 are in half ton trucks? I had the 3.5 TT in 2011 F150 and my wife has the 2.7 in an Escape. the Escape is obviously faster.

I sold the F150 and bought a 2021 F-250 with the 7.3 Godzilla gasser. The 3.5 Ecoboost had more torque than the big block. I'm kinda pissed about that....

Yup both in a half ton. 2.7 is faster (stock vs stock, 10 speed vs 10 speed)

Those ecoboost motors are really impressive. Just not sure about longevity but I could be wrong

Well mine wasn't tuned but I ran it pretty hard towing boats and towing the Jeep back and fourth over The Rockies several times. It never missed a beat. I think its one if the best motors Ford has ever designed.

wasn’t taking anything away from the 3.5, just a saying seat of the pants.

The 3.5 has the highest 1/2ton ford towing capacity for a reason

I haven't shot it yet
It drew my interest because it looked and felt like a full size Hellcat (cross bred with a Sig 320) and I love my Hellcat PRO.

I had a Hellcat RDP for a few months. They are objectively nice guns, but just too small for my hands. I've bought and sold like 4 subcompacts over the years because while they are comfortable to carry, I can't get a good grip on 'em. You'd think I'd learn by now, but every couple of years I end up buying another subcompact hoping it will work for me... it never does.🤣

When you finally shoot the Echelon, post about it in the off-topic section. I'm hearing a lot of positive buzz about them, but would be interested in impressions that didn't come from a gun magazine writer!

That's why I love the Hellcat PRO, full size grip frame that doesn't feel like it's gonna flip out of your hands when you shoot

Installed Kicker 6.75" sub last night. Had to massage the enclosure with a heatgun and a round object to clear the body of the sub and trim some of the ribs. Added some polyester stuffing to the enclosure too. Running it with the factory amp but hell I'm impressed, much much better than the $20 pyle yellow "sub".
