Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

I literally just installed that same pipe. Old cat was deteriorated on the inside and starting to get sluggish. It's a money pit! I was going to use the old 2.5 monster muffler and naturally ordered another to finish the job. Partially out of curiosity or a quieter muffler.

Looks like it's a trifecta. I have the same kit waiting to be installed on my '03, but mine doesn't have the 3rd Cat on the Jeep. Someone cut it out previously... Not sure I want to put one back in it.

Do you have a link to the wrap you used. That looks nice!

Isn't the Flowmaster kit for the '04+? I've been debating on ordering it for my '00 since I have the 3 cat set up on it (California emissions). Per Flowmaster and everyone else, the header is the same.

I’d go with Brandon2024

Yes it is listed for '04 and newer but according to some posts I have read on various Jeep forums it will work with the '03
I'm not sure what the difference is other than the '03 listing is a few hundred dollars more...

I've looked and looked and can't see why it wouldn't fit my 2000 either since I have the 3 cats. The ones that say they fit my 2000 are $700+ for just the front 2 cats 😬

Having the cat installed is not going to hurt anything to install it. If anything it eliminates the fuel smell in the exhaust.

DEI 2" x 50' roll

I used this DEI wrap on the exhaust 2 years ago and removed it this last week. Old pipe was reused as it had zero defects. I live in AZ, so water is no issue.

Central mountains of Idaho. The winter is the only issue we deal with here. The state started using salt brine as an "anti-icing" road coating.

Which means it probably wouldn't be a good idea to wrap mine with this wrap???

That is the general consensus I gather. It could hold moisture and salt should it be in that condition. I don't have any facts to back that, buty brain tells me that is what would happen.

I've run into the same findings for my 03. I'm not sure if the cats are different internally or what, but I'm going to give it a shot. Probably will leave the 3rd cat out for now though.

Seeing you makes me wish I would have committed to the full armor and tossed on the soft top. I didn't get as sideways as you, but that angle happens quick and without much notice.
I got lucky and missed the glass by 6 inches. Fender will buff out with some rattle can.

Besides playing with Evaporust all day, I literally scoured the internet looking for a specific snap ring (the one that holds the low/reverse drum to the output support on a 32RH). I finally found it at Trans Parts Online, but it's $26 + $15 s/h. I'm gonna call a local trans shop and see if I can buy it off them. It's either that or use a zip tie. :p

Probably be best to store your rig during the winter months

I’m curious, what’s the reasoning for wrapping the piping after the muffler? I wrapped the post headers, up pipe, and down pipe to reduce intake temps.
