What did you do to your TJ today?

Finally finished the valve cover gasket replacement job I started a couple of days ago, swapped out the spark plugs with the highly recommended Autolite XP985’s, and changed the oil, all while waiting for the impending rain again.
This was my street this past Tuesday, about a dozen houses down, in both directions. Suck doesn’t begin to describe what my neighbors are going through, with the possibility of it all happening again this evening.

People could have made a lot of money selling snorkels around here prior to it getting this bad.

New Bumper. Rugged Ridge XHD. Had issues with holes in the different parts lining up properly. Kept it interesting. Don’t know if it is the mfg or my Jeep is crooked. Jeep and owners are all a little off kilter.

Bought a set of craigslist special. Almost new Falken Wildpeaks mounted on Mickey Thompson classic wheels 32x11.5R15s. Swap these out with my pro comp steelies. The MT was too much for me I terms of on road use. Plus, they were heavy 33x10.5R15s. These MT wheels are light compare to the steelies.

Installed savvy body lift and brown dog mml. Geez, that passenger side mount was a biaatch. Body lift...super easy, except I broke one of the rubber grill radiator bump stops

What is a part time switch?

finished my electric fan install.

2006 TJ Sport
using Griffin Radiator & Thermal Products Part #: CU-70032

total time 4 hrs

used a bussman fuse for the relay to turn on only when the jeep is running.
they shipped too small of a temperature sensing unit, 1/8 npt.
I had to use a 1/4 npt temp sending unit. don't ask how i had one lying around...i installed it in what was the radiators drain valve.

i used a pneumatic tool and carved out a bracket for the overfill catch can reservoir from the old radiator shroud.

now that i know the fan works I will shorten every wire accordingly.

btw I've been using the Griffin radiator for about 7 months.

Then I drove it to lunch.....

Then I drove it to a car show/cruise and the spectator parking was in squishy grass (and a smidge of mud at the entrance).

Almost 100 (highway) miles today. Need to tweak the toe, I think. Little fidgety out on the superslab. But it's come a long way in a week, LOL.

Just finished up a junkyard cruise control install. My Jeep was already wired on the inside for cruise so I didn't have to replace the clock spring. Added switches from a WJ, got the servo and ECU pins from a XJ. Wired up and it works! Considering that I'm driving 8 hours on Tuesday in the Jeep, I'm beyond excited! 😁

Installed a helicoil in my driver side upper caliper bolt hole, in the rain.

Went to do my brakes yesterday and found out I'd been driving with a missing bolt for at least 8 months.
