Cut off the mounting flanges on skid and weld back on 1 1/8 inch lower than they were. Had to do some trimming on skid to clear interference with track bar. Interference was partially caused by rotation of rear end for Savvy tummy tuck that is waiting for new drive shaft to complete. What's involved with the skid lift?

That's what I thought. His ad sounded like a disclaimer. I wasn't sure if this was supposed to be good or bad?Wow, cool old school ride!

That's the first thing I do when I buy a TJ. If the factory would have done that, there would have been less internal frame rust issues IMO.Finally drilled drain holes in frame. Front already had them 3 1/2 inches from LCA mount so I drilled some 3 1/2 inches from LCA mount in the rear.

" Price is 15K firm. Everything works in this series III. Runs, stops, and performs like Land Rover series do."

It's just broken in now.
That is what I am hoping. Other than the second O2 sensor it is all working well. I will get to that soon. It's just broken in now.
Sounds like good advice but it turned out great.DO NOT install hood decals by yourself with 15 mph wind gusts.
I worked with a guy that really liked the Defenders. He flew from Dallas to Alabama, I think, to pick one up for $40k and drive it back. I asked him, "what are you going to do if you get there and there's something wrong with it, like it leaks oil?" He said, "if a Land Rover doesn't leak oil, that means it's not full." So why are you paying 40 grand for this thing??Which means the electrical system fails and it leaks oil...
Thanks. I was happy that I got it on straight with no bubbles.Sounds like good advice but it turned out great.
that's VW's "if there isn't oil under it, there isn't oil in it" - but we only pay like 5KI worked with a guy that really liked the Defenders.
