What did you do to your TJ today?

ive got a chunk of flat stock in the garage I had used to align the cams one my old escort at one point, it was brought up to do but I was determined with the rental. im fairly stubborn. though that probably would have worked better. in my head I figured taking the time to get the bar, measure the holes out, drill them.. id have to go down in the basement and get more tools out then put them back... bah. majority of vehicle tools are outside, drills, measuring tools and bits are in the basement.
If it helps anyone in the future, its ⅜" holes on 2¼" centers.

Hand throttle install complete. That's the good news. The bad news is there is a problem. It would seem the throttle cable - one of those steel wound ones with a solid steel core - is unhappy with the multiple, but large radius turns in its routing. I'll have to mess with it, try some lube, or maybe even find a different kind of cable closer in type to the "normal" one on the accelerator pedal. We'll see...

But to stay on topic, I drove my TJ today. Last night, wife and I went to the jewelry store to pick up a replacement ring like the one I had given her 25 years ago. Then drove it to BB's Lawnside BBQ here in KC for their Thursday night special sandwich. Mmmmm. Haven't really been doing much to it. Still need to wipe the interior down after the Moab trip to get at least some of the dust off the visible surfaces, LOL. Just been driving it. Got most of the problems rectified on this rig. Been kinda nice. A/C stopped holding a charge, so will have to look into that in the Spring. Motor is more rattle-y than I prefer, but the oil pressure is good. The 3:07 and no lockers is still in the back of my mind. Was driving it around today on my day off, and I forget which song came on, but I cranked it. The Kicker sub and amp I installed back in January was definitely worth it. The smile it brought to my face was proof!

Well we have a fuel “shortage” at the moment so woke up early to drive down to the station and fill up but found my passenger window had been smashed last night, good news is I managed to get a full tank. Taking an Uber to work now, when I get back in a few hours I will be replacing my window.
