What have you 3D printed for your TJ?

I have one last question before I fade away and let this get back to the original topic…What is the primary purpose of the multi-spool add-on? Is it simply designed to allow printing with multiple colors of the same material in one print?

That as well as printing with different materials in the same print, such as a flexible TPU and some other rigid filament. Also, there are special support materials available in a number of filament types, allegedly these special support materials are easier to remove, in some cases even soluble.

X1C arrived today. Got it all set up and printed a benchy. Daughter wants a little Jeep so we are out at dinner watching it print via the app.

Nice! Bonus on the kiddo being interested.

FYI, I picked up one of those SUNLU S2 dryer boxes to see what's what. I'll post up with my findings once I put it to use.

I really want the kids to get involved with it. My daughter is good with this type of stuff.

She’s been doing crunch labs and now I have her doing the 14+ hack packs. She just turned 11.

Looking forward to your review on the dryer.

I’m limited right now as none of my extra stuff has arrived. All my filament and the other AMS are on their way. Cool machine so far.

Hard to beat things that allow them to learn while having fun. And it's quality time you get to spend with your kids, got to enjoy those moments.

Hoping it works well. Need to find the IR thermometer (somewhere in the garage) to check/verify temps.

Assuming you got three rolls in the printer/ams box. They tend to be pretty random, think I got a roll of PLA and two types of support material, fortunately I already had a stash in reserve.

Bambu really did nail it with that line of printers. I think you're going to enjoy it. (y)

I got green and white basic pla and a support material.

I also had a print your own mouse kit in there that I wasn’t expecting.

I’ve got 17 random rolls on the way and will likely order some more before the sale ends.

That's right, I forgot about the sale....or maybe I was trying to forget since I got impatient and upgraded to the X1C a few weeks before it kicked off... :D

Not necessarily the cheapest (though still reasonably priced), the Bambu filaments seem to be of solid quality. No issues printing with them yet.

Great looking print.

I'm on the fence. What made you go X1C over the P1S?

Another forum I’m on has had a fairly long Bambu thread and the consensus is that the upgrades on the X1C are worth the buy in price if you can swing it.

Sure it can all be added but I didn’t want something I had to upgrade. I wanted to hit the ground running with this printer and from the few hours it’s been going it’s pretty awesome.

Doing my first multicolor print now

Sounds similar to what I'm seeing - you can make the P1S work but the X1C is an 'off-the-shelf' solution.

I'm coming from an Ender 2 V3 which is very much a hobbyist printer. I did a lot of upgrades to the Ender and it has been a great intro unit to learn about printing and see if it would be for me.

Ender is a unit I would still tell folks on the edge to get and play with but it's been painful at times to get a good print. I want a 'hit go' solution now.

I suspect I'll do a little more research and end up hitting the X1C with the current sale...

Another question - why go with 2 AMS on your buy of the unit?

I also have an ender 3 v2 Neo. I had no complaints with its output but it took too much work to set up and to load prints. I'll see if I can get anyone to buy it as I don't see it being used at all now.

Reason for the dual AMS's was mostly the sale. I like the idea of keeping them full and selecting what I need as I need it. I've also seen some models I'd like to make that go more than 4 colors. Definitely didn't need it, just a want it. After watching the AMS work, I'm impressed with it.

Fair - once I could get it leveled and the deck to properly adhere, the prints were pretty good for the cost of the printer.

Makes sense. I could see loading one with a set of 1 type of materials in various colors and the other in different material types and colors.
