I slipped some thin card behind mine and painted it easy 5 min job

I did precisely the same... slid a piece of cardboard behind and painted them black while I was repainting my grill. Super easy job.

That’s a serious tape job! Nicely done. Prep is 99% of the work. I was lucky and was painting my grill black at the same time.

Like you mine were rusty and bugged me. I used flat black Rustolium sprayed into the lid and a small art paint brush. 5 minute job. That was over a year ago.
