IF you remove that module you will probably throw a code and have the red SRS indicator at bottom right of instrument cluster.

thanks, now I'll have to check my TJ for one of those...I know my YJ had a module (a clear plastic box) in that same location that was just a timer to set off the check engine light, so people would bring them in for routine service
