What is this thing hanging from my dash?

Any ideas? Maybe this is why my heat/AC only blows through defrost, feet, and side vents?

Yup, that’s why it doesn’t work. That is the vacuum operated actuator for the blend door.

Test it before re-installing. Just move your A/C output position control through the various settings and watch the actuator; the shaft should move in and out depending on what selection you make. If it does not, it could be a vacuum line connection/leak, a selector problem, or a bad actuator.

Haha yes I’m sure it has. Just got the Jeep but the last guy didn’t really care much about the details. It was a hunting Jeep.
