What jack should I get?

I need a new jack, I used to carrry a AC Delco bottle jack, It's just shy of lifing my Jeep w/o a block of wood so i've always hated it, and now its going out. I'm looking at the Daytona bottle jack at HF. I would need the 12 as it lifts to 18-5/8" and my front axle is 16" to the bottom. I do have a tube support that adds an inch to the jack, but wondering if there is a better option.

I have always used harbor freight Jack's and use and abuse them and they keep going. You should be using jack stands in combination with the floor jack as well. Take that bottle jack and put it in the corner because once you have a floor jack it won't be needed

I have a floor jack I keep in my garage or throw on the trailer when I trailer my Jeep. I was more lookkng for advice on a jack to keep in my Jeep full time. I was kinda kicking around the idea of the badlands floor jack. not sure I want that in my Jeep full time...

Gotcha..the OEM jack is more than capable unless you have giant tires.

High Lift Jack Base modified for the bottle jack

I do, running 37's, I don't have the OEM, but i tried the one in my wifes JKU, didn't even come close. Infact, it won't even lift her Jeep if using the axle tube, she only has 35's.

X2, this is my OEM factory jack getting my 35's 3" off the floor. It's all I carry offroad. It'll get 37's off the ground too, they are only 1" taller than 35's when measured between the floor and axle.

Carry a pair of blocks. Cut them from a 2x8, fasten a rope/web strap to each. Paint if you're feeling creative.
At first post, I thought you were looking for an implement/Jack-All type . . . .

My OEM screw jack broke the first time I used it, and it looked like the PO had never used it at all. Mopar makes sloppy jacks. So I replaced it with a similar but better-built Toyota screw jack.

I carry the Toyota jack and a small HF bottle jack, along with several 6x6x2 boards to go under the jack, as needed. A short jack will fit under the axle, even on rocky rough terrain where a taller jack won't.

That's why I showed him in the photo how to position the factory jack it so it reaches the axle. Alternatively, if my above jacking method isn't liked, carry a short 4x4 block of wood to set the factory jack on.

I’ve been thinking of following your design and making one for the OEM bottle Jack to get better stability. Seems I took some measurements a few weeks ago.

I’m also excited to get the hardtop off and pull the half doors from their comfy living quarters you made for them Jeff.

They're probably all rusty now from all the chemicals in that cheap material...

I use the HF bottle jacks. They are the 20 ton size. I haven't had any issues with them. It fits under the axle fine.

no problems with it leaking if you store it on it's side?

I store them upright, so I am not sure if it would leak or not.
