Has anyone seen or used this hardware and iOS sw?
https://www.tomsguide.com/us/fixd-car-sensor-faq,news-25213.htmlI have a check engine light on so for 59.00 plus 6.50 one month subscription I bought this to check it out. It connects with Bluetooth to the sw on your phone.

I will be using tomorrow and will report.

So it helps if I ask the correct question. Before I go down bunny trails, like I just did, and spend money on things that don’t work or that could work better.

How do you guys get accurate OBD codes for your Jeep?

I bought one from a harbor Freight, it’s already paid for itself a few times over after helping with some TJ stuff and my brother in law’s Porsche.

If you have an android phone all you need is a $3 elm327 bluetooth adapter for the obd port. There are plenty of free applications on android to read the codes like incardoc. If you have an iPhone you need a wifi elm327 because Apple? I assume there are free programs for Apple devices that read the codes too, maybe somebody else can answer that. You definitely don't need another chinese box with a screen to read codes if you have a modern cell phone.

Do the random blutooth OBD2 apps support vehicle specific data, and the other protocols past obd2?

I have one of these and it could read the cruise control error codes that didn't trigger a CEL, and show what buttons I was pressing, why it wasn't setting a speed, etc.
While I haven't played with it much with my TJ, I did play around with it some with my WJ. I had to download a different app (can't remember what it was), but it was able to display when any steering wheel buttons were pressed, and I believe just about all the other buttons too. I had it set up so that the steering wheel volume controls would adjust the volume on my phone when I was streaming music to the Jeep, and the next track buttons would skip songs.
