What will I need to go from a 245/75R15 to a 265/75R16 tire?

Newb to the forum. This is my first post. Had my 04 rubicon for awhile now and really wanting to do a minimal lift to go up to a 265 75 16 tire. Thought about the ome route but seems a bit expensive for me. And trying to stay away from spring spacers that are too big. Got some h&r springs, rancho shocks and jks disconnects in a cart on Amazon. The springs should give me roughly around a 1 in lift overall which SHOULD be good enough to clear the tires comfortably. Maybe thinking about adding another 3/4in small spacer along with the stock ones in front to level it out. It does have a little rake. What else would be needed? Would i need a new trac bar and bump stops? Maybe a steering stabilizer? Any help would be greatly appreciated 👍

Planning on same tires for mine. Think I am going with 2933/2942 OME springs and 0-2” Ranchos. 1” bump stop extension/spacer frt and rear. Already have 3/4” leveling spacers up front.

Should be right around $600. May add JKS adjustable rear track bar too. Very similar to what quite a few have done on here. Many have done with no track bar mods on Rubicon and have been fine so we will see. Also, may need to dial in a little more spacer for bump stop but that’s cheap & easy.

Nice Jeep - looks like twin to mine.

Welcome. I run 265/75/16 on my stock '03 Rubicon and have had no problems, although my offroading doesn't include rockcrawling.

You don’t technically need anything.

However, if you want to maintain factory up-travel, you should either get a 1” body lift or a 1” coil spring spacer.

Awesome yeah they definitley look alike. And the ome springs are a little expensive but im sure they're worth it. Seems like they've built quite the reputation on the forum. I looked those up and I didn't even know they made medium load springs. Thanks for the reply 👍

My offroading doesn't include much rock crawling either. But your 265s look like they fit really well. I think the added weight with the winch and bumpers sagged the springs a little over time and the stock size is already about as stuffed as I want it. Thanks for the reply 👍

I'm running 265/75/16 on my '04 Rubicon with only a 3/4" spacer to account for my winch and bumper. Been like this for a few years with no issue, but I don't rock crawl.

Here is mine 265-75R16 2.5” OME lift. I have not done much wheeling maybe 100 miles of fire roads with some 12” ruts since I bought it 1 month ago. So far I’m happy with my setup.
4.5” front 6” rear top of tire to bottom of fender skirt. Sidewall of tires stick out 1” from fender. I have a Rubicon so I think my fenders are wider than regular TJ.

Nice lj! I really like that blue. And yeah I think rubicon flares are about an in. wider than the regular tj

Did you stack it with the factory isolator up front? Was thinking of doing the same thing and would probly bring me close to level. Nice rubi btw 👍

With a Rubicon you have 4.10 axles. They work great with a 265/75R16. My speedo is actually more accurate with the 265's. On my 06 Rubicon a OME 2" spring lift is perfect. If you are gonna be just on the street then no lift is needed, light trail use I would add a 1" lift. Be it a spring, puck, or body lift. Add some Rancho 5000x shocks (0-2"), and check your bumpstops are right and you are good to go! 👍

Thanks! It's not much compared to some of the builds on this forum, but it works. @TheBoogieman is right, the spacers go on the isolators.

I don’t have any pictures but I ran 265x75r16s on my 04 rubicon. It had a JKS 1.25 body lift, 1.75 front spacer, .75 rear spacer and bilstein shocks. No rubbing and I took it over some blacks trails at Rauch Creek and dragged it over lots of rocks. Current 03 Jeep TJ I’m swapping the frame on will run either 265 or 285x75r16 with rubicon TJ springs, an extra front Rubber isolator, and a 1.25 JKS body lift.
