What's a good-value GMRS, and can play it through my speakers?

Ye Olde CB has given up the ghost, and my GMRS Baofeng radio gets a TON of interference, even with the squelch turned up to 9. I'd like to get a mounted GMRS...nothing too fancy or expensive. Here's the catch though...just like how Siri will interrupt my podcast or music to give me directions, I'd really like my radio to interrupt my music to tell me what's being said. I'm sure there are aircraft setups like this. I have my eye on the Joying 8.8" head unit.

Any suggestions on a radio? Head unit? A way to make them play well together?

I did a fair amount of testing various GMRS options last year against HAM options like the Baofeng along with various antennas and the hands down best performing radio configuration in my tests were the stock Midland GMRS units

I currently have a few handhelds (for the kids) : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01786WD26/?tag=wranglerorg-20

And I have a 15w mobile unit for the Jeep : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FN2FBML/?tag=wranglerorg-20

Midland also makes a 40w mobile in case you need more power but I have been extremely impressed with the performance of the 15w & handheld combination thus far. My 15w mobile has an ext. speaker output on the back so depending on your HU, you might be able to take a 1/8 cord from there to your AUX-in. Otherwise, you could position the mic (which also has the speaker) somewhere closer to your ears. IMO the speaker on the mobile unit is plenty loud on its own.

Hope this helps in your research. Give the Midland a try and see what you think.
