I'm guess to stop mud and other gunk from getting shot up into the big hole above the rear axle in the frame on both sides.OP, what is your reason for wanting to plug the holes?
It's a waste of time and effort.
If you're talking about the four (large) holes that you can buy plugs for, then no problem. It should reduce the amount of stuff that gets inside. Obviously not a cure all.So what's everyones thoughts on plugging the frame rail holes? Good idea or bad?

I agree
The 4 large holes by the tires are access holes for the upper control arm bolts. My understanding was that the frame holes are crumple zones to keep you somewhat alive in the event of a collision. Is that not the case?
I use those and others to hose out the frame with a pressure washer every few weeks when the Jeep gets washed. The 4 large holes by the tires are access holes for the upper control arm bolts.
Same here. They work great for washing all the crap down my drain holes.I use those and others to hose out the frame with a pressure washer every few weeks when the Jeep gets washed.

Could you post the link to the plugs you bought. Thanks all. I bought plugs from Amazon. Pressure washed the heck out of the frame till nothing but clear water ran out. At least they’re removable so I can flush from time to time. I’ll also check out “Fluid Film”
