Today I checked if I had enough coolant. I had to add just a little bit but proceeded to air out the system. I went to grab the lower radiator hose and the upper part of the hose feels like there’s a hard material in the inside. Should there be hard material in the radiator hose? 1/4 of the hose I’m able to squeeze but then the upper 3/4 hard as rocks. That’s what it feels like to me if there’s rocks inside the radiator hose.
Is this normal ?

The cooling system is a close loop, and so, the engine block water pump sucks the coolant from the raditor through the bottom hose, and so, they designed an inserted rib coil spring to protect the flex hose from collapsing in the event of a vacuum surge.

Make complete sense now. Thanks for the education👌
