Shoes are tools right? 🤔

This might be dumb, but I'm looking to upgrade from just wearing a pair of running shoes when I'm out wheeling. I'm in Socal, most of my wheeling is in the desert or the mountains.

I'm slipping in my running shoes when I need to walk tough sections of trail or spot for someone.

Are most of you guys wearing hiking boots or what? Got anything you swear by?

Pic of my crappy trail shoes for attention. 😂

These look like what I'm after!

I prefer a low top. Definitely look like they'd provide more traction on rocks.

I'm digging the Olive/Moss combo I think.

Little pricey at $140, is that about what I should expect or have you guys found better deals anywhere?

I've never had Merrill shoes last me very long out here backpacking and hiking so stopped buying them (I've always worn through shoes fast though, just Merrills are exceptionally fast), but generally I don't think much about what I grab and it's whatever shoes I have that day (usually some generic streetwear shoes). If I think about it, probably the Soloman shoes.

Keens were the ones that I was buying a pair a year. Moab's have held up fine for me.

I paid $98 on Amazon, keep an eye on pricing since it fluctuates.
