I just purchased a 2005 Wrangler Sport. The seller had installed a cheapo lift kit (BDS 2" shocks/springs) that I am having removed and putting in stock springs, shocks. I want it back to stock. It has 265 70 R16 tires on aluminum rims. I don't know if the rims are original but the rims and tires look in good shape. Can I keep the tires with stock set up?

Welcome to the forum. Those rims are original, and are popular. They sell used for anywhere from $200–$350 for a good set.

And yes, you should be fine with those tires on a stock setup.

Thank you for the advice! I hoped the rims were stock. The jeep is for my daughter and I wanted it to be as stable as possible and she's just going to use it for on-road. The current suspension feels like its jumpy and moves right and left a but while driving. I bought 4 new shocks (Mcphearson), used TJ stock springs, the rubber perches, rear bar pin eliminators, and 4 sway bar links although I think the ones on there may be fine. Sound like I have this job covered?

I have a 2004 with stock suspension. It has 31/10.5r15s on it with stock rims (although a different rim) and has no problem. The set back on the rims is the culprit. Just from the looks, I think you are safe.

Is your daughter accustomed to driving a Jeep? It’s not an ideal vehicle for a new driver.

Thank you. She's been driving now for a number of years, so she should be fine and she always wanted a wrangler! When you say the set back is the culprit, what do you mean?

Some wheels are deep dished (which makes them stand out more. some are more flat faced. If they are stock wheels, I assume they are the same.

As far as I can tell from the pic, those appear to be stock "Moabs". See here for specs.

Yes, the Moabs that came on JKs (which are 17" I think) have less depth.
