I don't have abs, so I removed the abs tray and built a mount that slides down behind the wheel well.

I seriously thought about going this route, BUT I was afraid of dirt and water getting into the compressor. It *does* make for a nice installation.

ABS tray. It does get hot with the pre-CAT's right there, but I haven't had the thermal protection go off on me yet. I didn't have to remove the fender to get the ARB single in place - just a little bit of wiggling.
Where did you get that "cap" for the quick connect? I'm thinking about doing something similar. did you have to go with any kind of high-temp air hose for engine bay run?

I am using hose I found at Harbor freight. IIRC it stated it was rated for 175°. It's been three years and many fill ups and they've held up. My coalescing filter though has not....
+1 to this, but mine isn't as sophisticated yet. I also had one on my ABS tray, but that came out when I high lined. That will eventually be an auxiliary OBA when I get around to building a new mount somewhere (likely below where the ABS tray would normally be).
These guys make a really nice product, I wish some of there brackets were still available. I have been looking for some sort of "cap" for weeks!
Keep in mind that 12v compressors get HOT and they'll shut off on you when airing up once they get hot enough. Mounting them inside the engine compartment can cause them to get hot more easily and shut off more often while you're trying to air up.
Worrying about underhood 12v air compressors getting so hot that they shut off is like worrying the sky will fall.
If it ever happens, which is highly unlikely, just raise the hood, let it cool, and carry on.
