Regarding a 4 2005 Jeep Wrangler X 6 speed. I've searched and called an online parts dealer. He knew what it was but didn't have it. Anyone know where I might find this? This one pictured is a brush? My leg is not getting dangerously hot from the heat coming off, but it's a lot! Thoughts welcome. Thanks!

Could not find image for straight drive. This is a stock pic of an automatic.

The brush you have pictured was the only option that came from the factory and does not make much of a difference heat wise either way. Do you have carpeting?

If you have a lot of heat coming up there, the lower shifter boot (gear shift, not TC shift) is probably shot (they almost always are). Pull off your center console and take a look. Replacements are available, and ridiculously expensive. There are several thread around here about cheap alternative boots to fix it.

Thanks. I’ll try to find a thread. My mechanic sorta had contempt for Jeeps & just said that’s normal to let off heat.

If you're taking out the center console pull the seats and carpet and put down something like DEI Boom Mat. It'll help with the heat and noise. I got a six pack off Amazon for less than $75 and it's peel and stick.

You can follow @hear thread on pressure washing his carpet, too!
