So after a long day of wheeling I was getting ready to make my 2 hr drive home when I noticed my temp gauge shoot up to 260 in the red and check gauge light goes on. It was fine the whole day and never did that before. I had the system flushed and coolant changed less than a year ago. I drive about 10 miles and stop at a rest stop where I decided to let it cool a bit and I pop the hood and noticed the coolant reservoir was very low. A small gas shop owner filled it up with a good amount of tap water (I know it should be distilled but I just wanted to be able to drive home and I would have it flushed and replaced). I drive 4 more miles and get some Peak 50/50 prediluted coolant from a truck stop and add some to the reservoir as well because the temp wasn’t going down. Must have helped some because temp went down to a little higher than 210 and I was able to drive it the 80 miles to get home. When I get home and after washing the Jeep and cooling down a bit I check the reservoir it is now empty and the gauge reads a low temp when started up. No visible leaks that I can notice. Didn’t pop the rad cover since it was still warm. So what’s going on here? Not sure where to start or what the issue may be. I’m away for MDW so I won’t get to look at it or have it looked at until after Monday.
