Looking for a vent bolt/brake box splitter to the rear Dana 35 . The threads in the axle are stripped at the top (but they are good deeper) making the stock bolt too short

I need it with the threads 1/4 - 1/2" longer then the stocker , Anyone know where may have this bolt?

That's not just a bolt, it's also a hollow bolt that serves as a vent for the axle housing. The only thing I can think of is a heli-coil which will require you re-thread (re-tap) that hole and insert a heli-coil.

I would use the original bolt with a 1/4” thick or spacer in the original hole and weld the head of another bolt to the axle tube and use it for the brake line junction block

Cut the vent portion off. Get yourself a bolt with the same thread pattern as you need but longer cut to length. drill the center out of it and weld the vent cap to it.

That would vent the axle housing how?

same way that bolt he pictured. Basically he’s making a banjo bolt and utilizing the vent portion (far right piece on his picture) and welding it to a standard bolt that he drilled through?

Unless I am mistaken what that bolt actually looks like head on.

Ok I now understand drilling up through the center of a bolt. Then welding the nipple onto the top. Not that many could successfully do that but that's ok.

And that is easier than just installing a helicoil into the stripped threads in the threaded vent hole in the axle tube? A helicoil can be installed in just a few minutes.

Does anyone not know what a helicoil is and how it works to easily and quickly replace stripped threads?

Here's an breather bolt that's threaded further that yours as well as having fresh threads. It is 7/16-20 threads so that's the same. The only thing I'm not sure of is the hose nipple size, I think it's 3/8" vs this one is 5/16".
Lastly, someone commented in the reviews that it worked perfectly on their 02 wrangler with dana 35.

Ya, but where is the fun in that?

So this bolt ended up being the right one!! It was just long enough to reach some good threads in the axle housing.....I was amazed that they had one at Auto Zone in the Help Section.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions.. I really appreciate it ,

Think I may have one last question Thread about my brake service adventure....

Unless it is drastically smaller, I wouldn’t think it would matter.

That's great that the threads on the new breather worked out, The old breather threads looked pretty bad.
