Hello I'm new to owning a tj and I'm having some issues. I have a 2000 sahara with 198k miles. 5 speed manual trans witha 4.0. I recently replaced the 2 o2 sensors and while doing that I took the skid plate off. I didn't know it was a mounting point for the transmission. I took it off did the work I needed to do and went for a test drive. I made it about 150 yards and the jeep starter shaking really bad. I got it home very slowly. I looked at the transmission drive lines and transfer case and all looked to be ok. I put the skid plate on and went for a drive and everything was ok. After it was parked for a while I started it again and it started making a weird whining noise. It only does it in idle. If I engage the clutch its still there doesn't go away. If I rev the engine its there. It doesnt sound like a pulley to me but I could be wrong. I havnt taken the belt off yet and ran it to see if I can hear it or not but plan on doing that in the morning. Just wanted to see if any of you had an idea before hand. It wasn't making this noise at all before I messed with my o2 sensors. Sorry for the long post but I wanted to be detailed. I am also posting a video of the sound.
