Hey all just looking for some suggestions or clues on a noise my jeep is making. Last year I was having transmission issues throwing codes, getting put into limp mode, etc. Local transmission shop quoted me $2800 for a rebuild so i ended up swapping in a used lower mile transmission from a same year TJ in instead. Which has been working great and even better than my old one ever did but now it's making noises.
It's now starting to have a cyclical whirring noise only when the jeep is in gear. Park and neutral no noise but in reverse and drive it whirrs until I get going then it completely goes away. It seems to get louder the longer its running.
Transmission shifts perfectly otherwise. The fluid is full I checked it in park with the transmission hot after going through all the gears.
I am attaching videos of it idling in neutral, reverse, and drive. Hoping someone has heard something similar but I can't seem to find anything on the forum
Neutral (No Noise "baseline")
Drive
Reverse
Thanks for any suggestions on what to look at!
