Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

What are the part numbers on the GC manifolds you are NOT using? The Red Rock guide I have says part number 53013606AB for left and right. That has to be a typo. That part number is 2005-2008 GC from my little bit of searching. For me the upside of using the GC manifolds is I will probably buy a factory GC exhaust pipe with the cats and I'm sure it will need mods but it will give me a good start. Probably going to run the heat shields on the manifolds too to keep as much heat as I can in the exhaust pipe. No hurry, I know your trying to take it easy.

I'll see if I can find any part numbers on the ones I have.

The ones I just ordered are part# 68045559AB Left & 68045560AB Right .

The stock Y-pipe is always a good idea if you can make it fit/work but with the Savvy midarm the 3 link gets REAL close to the manifolds and causes fitment issues. I had the same trouble with the Magnum & shorty headers. People with stock or stock style suspension could use the Y-pipe on theirs.

I said I was going to take it easy today and try to stay off my leg to allow that bruise to heal. Of course our best laid plans never go as expected. I decided to try and get the STaK's 3 speed Monster box mounted to the 545RFE.
As expected I needed to move the studs and also rotate the clocking ring. Moving the clocking ring is 7* & I'm not sure what the spacing for the studs is.

After a LOT of cussing and fighting and more cussing and trying everything I could think of then a LOT more cussing and I finally got the STaK's installed.

I think I've got it clocked approximately where I had it before. Hangs down about as much as the tranny pan of the 545RFE.

A shot from the front axle looking back at the front output.

I'm going to have to redo my shifter bracket and move it to the front of the transmission which means that I've also got to change the Winter shifter from a rear cable output to a front cable output so that it'll be able to shift the transmission shifter in the correct direction.

@PNW_LJ you'd asked about the STaK's bolting up to the 545RFE. I had to move the studs from the center bolt holes to the far clockwise ones & then moved the clocking ring counter-clockwise by 2 sets of holes I. I'll start working on the crossmember now.

Always amazes me how big that STAK is - a monster.

I didn't do as good a job of cutting the old mount off the crossmember as I'd hoped.
So I'll order another one from GR.

Had to clearance the Holley transmission bracket to clear the STaK's t-case.

Also the whole drivetrain is sitting about 1.5" farther to the rear than it did with the Magnum engine.

So I'll have to get my rear driveshaft modified too. Hopefully the front will be OK...

Got the torque converter bolts installed (cool note: I was able to use the ARP bolts) and then installed the transmission/engine support bracket.

Can one of you guys with a Hemi tell me what I'm missing? Is there a plate or something that covers the space where the starter would go?

I put my 2007 Charger on the lift as it has a truck Hemi but with a Nag1 tranny. On mine there is a thin steel plate between the block and tranny, aka splash/dust shield. I spent a little time on the Mopar parts sites and didn't find anything that wasn't sandwiched between the block and tranny. I know, not what you wanted to hear. With your fab skills a little aluminum or steel cover probably won't be a problem.

You must be talking about this.

Yep I'm sure not going to separate the transmission from the engine NOW. And yes I can't imagine making a cover would be that hard.

I wonder if it can be flipped for a passenger or drivers side starter? Might just buy one to have on hand for the next time I pull the engine or transmission.

Chris from Hotwire got back to me already too and is sending me the terminal. But I also ordered 5 more from Ballenger just to have some for just in case.

Edit: That is pretty stand up since I'm not the person who bought the wiring harness from him.

I didn't see anywhere on that link that it said right or left and it looks like the bolt holes and notches are symmetric... I did see an Ebay posting that said it was for a driver's side starter... so???

My gut says it can be installed either way.

I didn't find anything either. I'll order it and have it here.
