Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

Hell yeah dude!!! So excited for you, it's finally alive. I bet that drive home was stressful after it started sputtering lol. Jeff is right that air line blowing at the end is just perfect jeep comedy 😂

Once I got up the hill where it started sputtering on I was happier. Shorter walk home for the truck & trailer if I needed it.
We were at about the same spot last year where the Jeep was running and driving and I'd really thought it was done then too so I'm not getting too excited just YET.

Of course shit like that air line popping are going to happen at moments like that. It's just the way it works IMO.

Ah true, and something went wrong again. Just your freaking luck apparently.

Always something. They keep turning into smaller things though!! Lol. You ever wonder wtf you'd do all day when it's done?

I'd pulled the heads in Nov last year and didn't get them back until January. But on top of the heads was the low oil pressure issue. I'd had my fingers crossed that the heads and the oil pressure were related.

I've got other rigs to work on if I wasn't working on this one. But I wouldn't have as much invested in those rigs either.

Well DAMN IT that pressurized brake bleeder was a major FAIL 😳.
The pump on the bottle leaks.

And I'll be damned if I can get the master cylinder cover to seal properly.

Wasted 2 quarts of fluid at this point.

And have brake fluid all down the side of the Jeep.

So it's going back to Amazon.

Going Off & ON plus when I was bleeding the brakes it seemed like I wasn't getting as much fluid out of the rear calipers as I was the front.

Same exact problems I was having. I bought the BMB tool and bled them again. Problems solved.

The shuttle valve moves when there is a pressure differnce between the front and rear systems, shutting off flow to the system with less pressure, and setting off the light. If the light is going on and off, the shuttle valve is likely working properly. That may point to air in the rear lines.

To properly bleed, you need to “disengage” the shuttle valve using a tool like Blaine’s.

It’s well worth the small price tag. Solved my rear caliper bleeding issues.

I've been having talks about this with mr2 dudes for my clutch bleeding. I am probably going to buy this kit: https://www.harborfreight.com/pneumatic-air-operated-brake-bleeder-with-auto-refill-kit-57057.html

Sounds like people have had good luck with this. This is a vacuum one though not sure if that would work for you.

I tried to "pressure bleed" my clutch over the weekend, I saw a video of a dude putting his air compressor airgun into the reservoir and then pushing the lid down hard with his hands and pulling the trigger, pushed the bubbles right out... well, it didn't work that well for me. I now need to paint the frunk for the 4th time

I have this one and it’s always worked fine.

I have the mityvac hand pump and that thing is ass. And the hand pump that came with my vacuum coolant filler donger, also ass. Maybe this one is better

I have a MityVac too and it's what I'd used to bleed the brakes initially. My had was tired by the time I was done.

I have one. Brought it back when I first started this project and Blaine was offering advice.

After a ton of daughter pumping the brakes I finally got good fluid to the passenger rear brake. Tons of air came out too. Will let it sit overnight and test it in the morning.

Yep it works and is good if you're on a budget and don't have another person. But there are much better alternatives if you have another 50-60$ to spend.

hahahahaha this video is classic "working on dad's car with dad"

Pump the brakes!! GOD DAMNIT

I pressurized mine and left it for a day to confirm it held pressure. You only pump it to 15 psi.

And you pump it as needed after bleeding each caliper which isn’t needed after each caliper unless you let a lot of fluid out.

Yep but the God Damnit wasn't directed at the kid like it is sometimes.
I was getting frustrated by this point. After the brake bleeder didn't work.

I've done the simple one way valve on the hose for years and it worked great. But the hose finally wasn't any good and I've never been able to find another one that worked good.

I would guess it's like the mityvac and not horrible when everything goes perfectly to plan. But when you have to redo stuff it starts to really suck.

Yeah it's annoying. It gets old getting brake fluid all over tbh. It's a nasty fluid

I've seriously looked into the speed bleeders... I had a hard time finding the right one for what I needed though
