Never did figure out how I managed to do this. Steve @ORO just shakes his head with me.

Well this project seems to always want MORE money spent on it every time I turn around.

Just got done talking to Steve @ ORO and it seems I CAN'T use my current SwayLoc because the bushing won't fit my outer bar diameter. So being the upstanding guy that he is he's cutting me a deal on a new SwayLoc kit.
So my old one wiil be For Sale here soon.

Wow I think I might have set a record on completing a sale of parts today. That SwayLoc wasn't up for more than 10 minutes and it was SOLD.....

But that just means I have more parts money....

Nothing exciting really today but been cleaning parts & fasteners .

This is all the parts I soaked yesterday.

The cleaned engine parts waiting to be installed.

All the cleaned bolts.

And then the next batch of parts and bolts to get cleaned.

Now maybe I can get to actually work on the engine a little.

I had to dig it out today for a little inspiration.

That is pretty sweet to look at, reminds me of my 66 Chevelle with a Tri-Power intake on it, didn’t make much more power but sure looked good.

I had a 66 Chevelle with a BUILT 396 in it and it would lift the front tires off the ground. I got in a lot of trouble with that car. I wish I'd never sold it.

Mine had a 327, there’s a lot of vehicles I wish I never got rid of.

So here is a little more EYE CANDY.

And a few with the air cleaner installed.

Then with just the base plate on.

Then with the screw tabs for the air cleaner installed

This is actually a carbureted intake that F&B modifies and adds the fuel bungs for the injectors.

And they make the TB in house for this. I went with this because I needed the extra CRM's to feed my 408 once it's done.

The one I regret the MOST is my 57 Chevy that I had. It was a nicely worked over 283 & a 3 speed trans with 3 on the tree. Can you imagine kids now days trying to drive that?:ROFLMAO: I got that car for $200 & a lever action 30-30 with a octagon barrel. Should have never sold that rifle either.

I had a 57 Bel Air 2 dr h-top that I traded for a 65 mustang fastback which I sold for a down payment on a brand new Toyota PU

That's too funny. Mine was a 2 dr hardtop with no posts and I used it as a down payment on a 1984 Toyota pickup 4WD. Back when they were putting 6-12" lifts on them. I just had to have a 4wd.

Well I started off today thinking I was going to be showing everyone me installing the camshaft and then getting it degreed.

This is the crank snout adapter for turning the engine over and I just wanted to do a quick test fit. Pulled it back off started getting other things positioned.

Then installed the piston stop.

Next was cleaning the camshaft to get it ready to install. First was spraying it down with break clean to get all the coating off of it. Then wipe it all down then start to lube the cam journals.

The long bolt on it is to help with installing it. They make nice handles for this but since I don't do this all the time there wasn't much point in buying it.

As each journal comes up I put assembly lube onto it.

Cam installed.

An a picture from the top with the cam installed.

Now comes the POINT my day went downhill. I've ordered all sorts of new parts for this engine and some how DIDN'T order a woodruff key for the camshaft. So this SUCKS DONKEY DICKS..... With the holidays if I order it it'll be end of next week before I can get. So Saturday I'll call around to auto parts stores and see if I can find one locally.
