Will a Dana 44 driveshaft work with my Dana 35?

Good afternoon,

I found a SYE on the good old Facebook marketplace, in the ad he mentions that the driveshaft is for a Dana 44. My question is will that driveshaft bolt up to my Dana 35? Or are the Dana 44 and 35 driveshafts different?

Thank you

Probably different as the size of a 35 vs 44 pumpkin is different.

Probably needs to be a touch longer for a 35...might have enough extension to work.

Ok. But I guess the flange on the end of the driveshaft would work?

That's a big "it depends". I swapped in Rubicon 05 Dana 44's and the pinion have 1330 yoke on them. I used a Spicer 1310 to 1330 Ujoint, forget the number, but it's easy to see in a search. Also, the pinion Dana 35 pinion as others pointed out, isn't as long, so the DS would need to be longer.

If it's a non Rubicon Dana 44, I don't personally know if it's a 1330 or 1310 U Joint. I believe 1310 but you'd need to clarify

Fyi you could have put Dana 30/rear Dana 44 yokes on your rubi d44s and not needed funky conversion ujoints. On tj d44s its as simple as taking off the nut and yoke, replacing the seals with regular Dana 44 seals, installing the yoke and torquing the nut. No crush sleeve to worry about.
