Will CJ / YJ half doors fit a TJ?

Probably not. I definitely don’t think this has ever been attempted before.

There is a long history of putting YJ half doors on a TJ. They fit fine. All that is needed is to change the body side from a hoop to a pin.

What does a person do about the obvious difference in the door panels?

Will yj cj half doors fit in a tj?

Yes, you can put many doors “in” a TJ.

As far as putting them “on”, yes for YJ doors. I don’t know about CJ.

The YJ door mechanism is different, so you swap the TJ U shaped latch for a pin and you can make it work. There’s a write up on here somewhere.

....

I'm thinking factory half doors for the CJ7 didn't exist and what we do see on the CJ are really YJ half doors.

That looks to be the case. CJ7 and 8 take a YJ half door.

For the OP. The pin striker is 5/8” diameter.

I just saw this after I included a link to the write up you mentioned. (y)

Make your own like @JoshNZ. Color match if needed.

The YJ doors will fit. In addition to what's mentioned above you need to shorten the interior door latch lever as it is positioned too close to the TJ dash to open them.
