Have a 2000 wrangler TJ with 31/10.50/15 with a backspace of 3.5 so they stick out too far. Looking for stock wrangler wheels 235/75/15, found a set of 225/75/16 off a Cherokee will they have the same backspaceing? I assume stock is about 5 inches? any disadvantages?
Thanks

not a Cherokee guy, so I have to ask, when did Cherokee's have 16" wheels?

and why do you say your wheels stick out too far

my wheels have 3.5" backspace I think they're about perfect...of course, I did put flares on my Jeep to be street legal back when I lived in NJ...don't really have to worry much about tire coverage here in AZ

why would they be a poor choice?
Some people don't like 16" wheels because of the tire size selection. I actually prefer 16s; however, there is an issue where most off road oriented tires in the good sizes are load range E, which have stiffer sidewalls than a load range C tire.
