Winch install

so i got my rugged ridge mounting plate in and started to install the new warn vr8 on the plate before I attach it to the bumper.
The socket head bolts from the fairlead prevent the winch from sliding far enough forward to allow the two back winch mounting holes to line up.
Am I missing something obvious?

you could always try and get a button head bolt and flip it so the button side of the head is facing the inside it should net you the clearance that you need to properly mount it

Those fairlead bolts should have thin heads, at least that's what mine had.

The head of the bolt I linked to goes on the inside just like the button head bolt idea @Mr. Pink suggested, both would probably work fine.

I dont think its going to work. Looks like I need to find a torch and lengthen the bolt hole on the mount.

With all 4 winch bolts in the winch is about 1/4" from the front of the mount.
Pretty disappointed in it.

Yep, it's tight.

Just about 1/4" is right, that's what those bolts I linked to are for.

I picked up some grade 8 bolts in town, i'm going to try to grind the heads down to fit.
If not ill order the ones you mentioned. Trying to get it done today so I can move on to the next project.
