New-to-me hard top, from a 97, just mounted on my 97. Seems to fit like a glove, but I'm getting a surprising amount of wind noise across the top of the windshield.

Is this normal? Seems to be sealed well, but I do see that the hard top has a bit of an 'overbite', overhanging by just a few mm.

Two pics below show how it lines up, front-to-back.

Mine did the same. I bought a newer style seal that goes across the top of the windshield frame. It had it's own lip that stuck out a little. Solved the problem for me. I suspect same for you. I'll see if I can get a pic in a minute.

Interesting. I was told previously that the same, original seal would work for both my soft top and this hard top. But maybe this seal is due for replacement, and maybe this noise has been hidden by all the other noise of my soft top.

Work, yes. Just not "improved" like the newer seal....

It was a mopar seal I remember. There were two different versions. Took me a while to figure out which one. I think it's the "newer" style though. And yes, works just the same with the soft top.

The only thing that didn't work perfect was the body clip or whatever it's called at the ends that plug into holes didn't line up with my holes in the windshield frame. I just pulled them out and poked new holes.

Do you recall where you ordered? Local dealer or one of the big Mopar sites?

Edit: So far I see nothing on RockAuto or Summit, for example.

Ok I've found a few, but I'm not seeing two types to choose from (older and newer style). If @SkylinesSuck's purchase was over 10 years ago, then maybe it's only the 'newer' style that exists anymore?

But I see a big price jump on the last one (Amazon), which makes me wonder if there's something different I can't see.

The lip that sticks out in front. That's what I took a picture of to compare to yours. That and the body clip/plug things not lining up. Easy fix though.

One other thing I forgot to mention---try loosening everything up and sliding it back as far as it'll go (which won't be more than a fraction of an inch) and clamp the front clamps first, then tighten the back up last.

Ok, I decided to try the Summit one, linked above. It looked like the newer version, and had the Mopar number ("AB" version) listed alongside it, so I hope it'll work as a cheaper option. We'll see.

For some reason the Mopar site linked above said it would not fit on my 97, but would fit on an 05. Hoping that's just wrong.

Probably said it wouldn't fit because of the push pin clip things I said you need up pop new holes in the seal for. Not a big deal at all, but hopefully the summit one does you right 👍
