PUBLIC NOTICE: NOV 24, 2020
Greenwater Snowmobile trail grooming will begin soon!
Please read carefully: Snowmobile trail grooming cannot, and will not begin before Dec 1st; regardless of how much snow there is. Therefore FS Road 70 will remain opened to wheeled vehicles until Dec 1st. However PLEASE NOTE: The Naches Trail west of Naches pass is closed to all wheeled vehicles as of Nov 9th!
IN ADDTION: ALL VEHICLES THAT ENTER THE FS ROAD 70 BEYOND THE ACTIVE SNOPARK AREA SIGNS, MUST HAVE AN OFFICIAL WA STATE SNOPARK PERMIT DISPAYED IN THEIR VEHICLE WINDOW, OR YOU WILL BE SUBJECT TO A CITATION OR YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE IMPOUNDED, THIS IS REGARDLESS OF THE ACTIVITY YOU ARE DOING THERE!
The Greenwater area utilizes a moving snopark model. This means the snopark moves up or down with the snow level, therefore wheeled vehicle access will no longer be allowed beyond a given designated point on FS Road 70 when one of the following occurs. Most often this will begin between Dec 1st to Dec 15th
1)
The lower gate at 28 mile Creek snopark is closed due to low elevation snow
Or
2)
The gate at Pyramid creek snopark closes due to snow.
Or
3)
Signs get posted at either 28 mile creek or Pyramid creek snoparks indicating “No wheeled vehicles beyond this point”.
Or
4)
Signs and or barricades are posted at the upper gravel pit, (just below Mike’s rock area) indicating “No wheeled vehicles beyond this point”.
Thank you everyone for your cooperation, understanding and following the forest service rules. This makes it much safer for everyone, reduces violations, reduces impact on our public lands and preserves all of our different recreational access in the Greenwater area throughout the year.

Just a heads up for those who might want to do some snow wheeling. Make sure the road/trail you are wanting to access is not closed to wheeled vehicles.
