Wiring information for Chevy 350 engine swap

Wiring information? Doesn't the old 350 run with only 1 wire to the distributor? I started one on a pallet once with a jump box and a jumper wire. Not sure if it's worth the effort swaping a 190hp I6 for a 200hp V8 though.
The draw is the 300 lb. ft. of torque.

Depends highly on which one you get. The more common LM1 base 350 that is everywhere was only rated at 150-170hp and 250-270tq. You can buy higher hp versions and or upgrade parts to make more power, however you will be spending more money. Also if you mod the engine you will have to tune the carb. If you have issues with the simple fuel injection system in a TJ properly tuning a carb will not come easily either. I have dyno'd a pile of old small blocks that were "350hp". Most make less than 200 whp and some much less.

Of course, " spending more money " upgrading the most popular and aftermarket supported engine isn't really the issue.
Not that I would prefer a carb over F.I. ,but tuning a carb over Heading down the ECM / Tune rabbit hole dosen't seem to
be the issue either.
Not that I am really disagreeing with you, But other than installing a 3rd Gen. Chevy " LS "
You would get more h.p. / torque from a SBC than anything else dollar for dollar. Think 1988 Vette spec. L 98
245 hp / 345 lb. ft. All before any Mods. Thanks and Happy New Year !

If you are really ay an altitude of 9052' you should seriously consider fuel injection.
In my best " Mr Blaine voice " :ROFLMAO:!!

I do live at 9052' elevation you FN wingnut ! And I love F.I. !
That said , to all you " Carb Tuning Expert MOFO's ".
I commuted for 26 years with carburetor equipped trucks and a 3772' elevation change each way. Guess What ?
You don't have to change jetting / tune every 1000' of elevation change!!!

I love hearing from Inexperienced carb. experts that expound on what can or can't happen with carbs / Elevation tune.
Most of you F ers change 500' elevation in 150 miles and are ready for an inframe rebuild and twin turbo install !

This isn't directed specifically at 5632 ! , but in the thread of installing a SBC a carb isn't a death wish other than the EPA reg. B.S.

Rant off :ROFLMAO:
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Happy New Years !!!!!

The biggest problem with small blocks is the cylinder head design and the lack of compression. By the time you fix both of those issues you are deep into an engine overhaul. Even a 1st gen 5.3 LS can make almost 400hp with a cam and bolt-ons.

We agree on the 3 Gen !!
At some point it all depends on what your trying to do with your TJ and what
you are willing to spend for the total cost involved for engine , tune , build time , and peripherals.

A sump back to the tank instead of dropping the sloshy fuel into the intake can solve about half the problems of extreme angles.

There is just something special, like a bond when you are carb'd.

Zorba, it's hooked to a SM-420. It's like shifting a school bus.
