Wrangler vs Wrangler

It‘s an ATV box but fits perfectly between the wheel wells. It’s easily removable if I want to put the seat back in.

The price went up about $90 since I bought it. It can probably be found cheaper.

Here‘s some info about how I installed it, if interested.

Thank you, much appreciated. I've been looking for something that size for a while. I'll look into your installation notes.

The jeep will be a 2nd car for me I have a 6 seater family SUV. One of the main reasons I am considering a Jeep is I like some ground clearance up at the cottage and I only drive a manual transmission so my options are limited. Basically the only SUV with 4 wheel or all wheel drive and a stick shift are Subaru and Jeep. I've been driving a Forester, but it burns a ton of oil.

Thanks Chris I will post to the JK forum, but I also thank all others for their input as well because as I am new to the Jeep all information in useful especially as it seems that Jeeps of different ages and types really do seem different. I have not completely ruled out a TJ and I have to ask what makes the 2 door TJ a better offroader than the JK?

Where it matters, wheelbase, tire size and belly clearance are all related to performance. Meaning there is no clear answer to the question.

Right I see what you mean, the TJ is narrower and perhaps shorter with more clearance among other things.

Get the Jeep that you will use, even if it means 4 doors. Then build in a way that solves the problems you encounter.

Good advice, I don't need a 4 door jeep though. I'll use my family SUV for hauling the family around. A two door can still fit the kids me and the dog and a couple of bags thrown on the floor of the passenger side.

OMG that's the old Jeep Box design with a new name that was in my stolen Jeep. That's a GREAT box, I miss the hell out of mine.

Right now 3.8 wranglers are amazingly plentiful and cheap .

As bad as it is , a ton of 3.8 engines were marketed in several Chrysler/Dodge platforms and had a long production run , the Caravan being the front-runner in my mind .

I drove a hopped up 3.8 regeared 4 door , it was actually pretty fun , but so is a moped til your friends see you .

The 3.6 is a good engine , and the newer 8 speed transmission makes it far better is the report ,as a V6 has a peaky power curve.

A TJ is a solid ,solid vehicle - you just have to realize it's a lot older , and naturally is going to need some care and maintenance.

My biggest thought is avoid a beat up , hopped up , TJ , JK or anything that has been rode hard and put up wet - they will eat your bank account up trying to make them enjoyable and reliable again.
