I am looking into my first TJ purchase (again) and i am curious about any significant differences between the X and the Sport trim packages... especially considering the amount of mods and "playing" with stuff I have planned. Thx
Sport is a tad better than the X. I have the Dana 44 with my Sport and 4 disc brakes that the X does not have.
Maybe I was not clear enough, Dana 44 with all disc brakes. X does not have Dana 44 on disc brakes.Every TJ 03-06 had rear disk. Every TJ 97-02 has rear drum.
Not so. Disk brakes standard on Rubicon, rear disk brakes optional on Sport and Sahara.Every TJ 03-06 had rear disk.
Ok. X didn't have rear disk brakes, Sports could have them as an option.
We are neighbors my man, I know we will look after each other should we cross paths and in need of help... I-40 or I-25, or even I-10 in the south.
Not so. Disk brakes standard on Rubicon, rear disk brakes optional on Sport and Sahara.
:eusa_doh:This is correct.
Mechanically, the X and base Sport, with no options were identical. The X had no mechanical upgrade options. It did have a cool stripe tho. The Sport had several good options, the Dana 44, big wheel option being the best with 3.73 ratios. Really the X was a trim, paint package for the most basic TJ with the 4.0L. Pretty sure the X only came with the 3.07 ratios,,,, as did the base Sport. One of the few options on the X was AC.the X and the Sport trim packages
Sorry, not so. The '03 X I previously owned had 3.73 axles.Pretty sure the X only came with the 3.07 ratios.
At the risk of opening a can of worms, what does the Sahara package have, different trim? Different options? Not so. Disk brakes standard on Rubicon, rear disk brakes optional on Sport and Sahara.
