Hey guys! Hello from Bosnia!

I was really happy to find a TJ dedicated forum! I was even more happy to see its still going strong!

I've bought a '00 TJ 2.5 Sport from the first owner, 44k kilometers on the clock, mostly on roads.
Everything stock and in great shape. I have some rust on the rear axle and frame, but nothing serious. I will have it stripped and repainted in the winter to get it in the best shape possible.
After a week of driving some noises started happening, but when I removed around 1kg of pebbles between gearbox and skid plate it is waay better now :) I also should replace rear bushings and front right U-joint, but its nothing serious. Also I plan to put on 31x10.5x15 as its still on stock tires. Would that be too much for daily driving and stock components? I was also thinking of 3'' suspension lift. All that mostly for the looks, as I plan to save this TJ for at least next 20 years. However I grew so fond of the car that I am planning to buy another one in worse shape and make it trail worthy :)

Here are some pictures:

Nice TJ! I love yellow TJ's. I especially like them with black wheels. Y0u can run 31x10.5's on a stock TJ. A 2" OME lift with those 31's would look nice. I've been there before in my build...Welcome to the forum

Bosnia? Wow! That's awesome to know that there are TJs alive and kicking in so many other parts of the world. It looks like it's in great shape, so I can't blame you at all for wanting to buy another one in worse shape to make it a trail rig. I'd hate to do to much damage to that one!

Good grief, I do know some old time friends in Bosnia. They went to Chicago for training in our machine shop way back in early 80's. They talked about soccer a lot but never "off road" stuff. Welcome aboard and hope you keep us up with your mods.

Welcome to the forum! That seems like a great find with low mileage! I hope you'll share photos of your country when you're out wheeling your new JEEP!

Thank you all for such a warm welcome! I've been a member of online communities since the dialup times and I really miss the pre-Facebook days when all knowledge was shared on forums and mailing groups :)
@TJ2 soccer is always a hot topic on the Balkans, but I personally don't find it that interesting.

Lets get back to the TJ. Since I've been driving it for the last week or so, all the small rattles are now escalating inside my head.
Today I found the cause of some of the irritating sounds.

Here you go :)

I'm the same way... I miss those days too!

Glad you found the cause of that irritating rattle too.

Wow, a 2000 TJ with 27k miles! Great find. As mentioned, a 1.75 - 2" lift would work with the 31" tires, is easy to install, not a lot of cash outlay, and will not create drive line issues you probably don't want to deal with in a daily driver.

You want to come to California and find the squeak in my dash? haha

Welcome to the forums. :Saeufer:

Welcome and congrats.

Those are some different looking tail lights you got there plus the smaller one under the license plate

Probably because its an European market version :)
Unfortunately I have about 2-3 other different rattles. If it was any other vehicle I would swear the rattle was a bad sway bar link and/or steering bar.. I really really hate those sound but it seems to be my curse. All the way from Renault 19, Fiat Stilo, BMW E60 I can't get away from those. Thats why I bought a Hyundai i30 despite hating everything Asian :D As a matter of fact, I bought the TJ because there were no rattles when I test drove it! 10 days out, EVERYTHING is making sounds and my fight continues :D I will prevail!

@xxdabroxx I would be so happy if only my dash was squeaking, thats easy to solve :D
@glwood thanks! I think thats the best way to go for start, as I don't have any 4x4 experience so far.
