Here's my status. In August ( So what, less than a year ago), I replaced:
brake hoses (Crown stainless)
new rotors (Centric)
new AC Delco pads
re-man calipers
upper and lower control arms + bushings (stock)
U joints (Spicer)
wheel bearings (Timken)
ball joints (Spicer)
steering linkage(Crown HD/ZJ)
Shocks (Rancho)
brake drums/ shoes
steering dampener
In the last couple months I've had some crazy brake steer or something else going on. The Jeep was pulling to the passenger side so I took everything apart and found a rusty slide pin. I cleaned it up, no problem for a day or two, issue resurfaced. I then took both brake assembly's apart, lubed all the slides, inspected pads, rotors, no issue to be seen, and again, no issue for a few days.
Then I had the DRIVER side caliper lock up on me enough to be able to smell it, but not to pull the Jeep to that side. Pulled over, let her cool down and limped the ten minutes home with zero issue and no heat when I got home.
I replaced the pads, had the rotors turned, bought new re-man calipers, bled the whole system, got my tires balanced and I seem to be having the same issue AGAIN!! By same issue I mean that it's pulling to one side or the other, doesn't even seem to be consistent, almost like if you were out of alignment, but only when I brake. I can take my hands off the wheel on a flat road and I do not veer in either direction. I am at a total loss.
Help!
