Your mounting ideas for a tablet in a "JK".

Don't no 'nothin bout birthin' no babies...oh, sorry, wrong forum!

Haven't tried that yet in the JKU. Still working on it in the TJ. I guess it depends on how solid you want it to be, and how much you want it in your face. There's not a lot of solid real estate in the dash of a JK/U to mount something solid for off road use. Lots of plastic and things to cover up though.

Here are two I am seriously looking in to:
http://www.proclipusa.com/product/213499-proclip-center-mount-extra-strength-mounting-platform
and
http://www.rammount.com/
And i looked ate these also and with a ram mount it might work for me
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_...Multi-Mount+System+(Black)&tag=wranglerorg-20

Because of lost vision in my right eye the tablet is easier to glance at and not lose the road like I would with a phone sized GPS unit. We are testing different software for trail bike riders in this area and as simple a task as getting a GPX to every one for the meeting area and the support areas. The group I am interested in works through a church and does a lot of parental and children training and competition!

Ah, come on. @MikeM, thought we could help him out with a fairly straightforward mount for a tablet in a Wrangler. Sure, it's probably not posted in the perfect place or even on the correct forum, but give him a break. It's not the first JK question to show up here. Won't be the last. At least be helpful.

Although it's a little different route than what you requested. Soundman out of California manufactures some of the most beautiful kits out there for tablet/iPhone dash setups.

https://soundmanca.com/?category=Tablet+Dash+Kits

He offers many different kits. iPad, iPad Pro, iPhone(+), and even some android product support.

I firmly believe his kits the best. I have looked all over for nice dash kits and his alaway shine.

It will require knowing someone with some history of building custom audio setups for automotive applications. And the JK has the pro of being able to go to the dealer and buy a brand new JK dash insert to build this and take your time making it look like an OEM finish.

Wow that is way more than I was expecting. I believe I will go with Vector bar mounted just above the dash and then add two Ram mounts one for my phone that keeps falling over suction cup and all, and one to mount the tablet in front of the radio for off road use only. I do appreciate your response. Mike

No worries. Better to have the info out there. Maybe someone will come across this in the future and like it.

Good luck with your purchase.

Sounds odd but check out companies that sell law enforcement and ems equipment. Our ambulances run IPads in a special mount, I just checked and see no name unfortunately. May be more utilitarian than you want but it's worth a look.
