ZJ steering (crown kit) boots?

Of those who use the crown HD steering kit (also the same as the ZJ steering mod)...

I put it on and torqued to spec (55ft lbs) but that seems to completely flatten the boots and they won’t take any grease. Zerks flow when removed and tested without resistance. Should I loosen the nuts to create some space between the joints and allow the boot to fill out more?

I'm pretty sure the main job of the boots is to keep other stuff out.

How do you like the kit so far? The reviews seem mixed and I'm not sure if it's worth it vs. buying parts individually, like all Moog or something.

It’s fine except quality control sucks. Didn’t get zerks for two out of four ball joints.

Hopefully their quality control regarding production is better than their packing/shipping dept leaving those zerks out.

I doubt it. The end that didn’t have a zerk on my tie rod isn’t even drilled all the way through the joint UGH. Wondering what to do now. Maybe drill it deeper but then I’ll have metal shavings in my ball joint. Save for Currie, I can’t believe anyone recommends this “kit”
