    Nashville TJ's Build - Continued

That makes my ‘08 6.7 CTD look rather old school…

No idea. Maybe? I think the code only allows you to hear users on the channel who are using the same code. Others can still hear you unless their group is using a different privacy code. But I really no nothing about GMRS.

We used GMRS last year (16 or 18 maybe?). As I recall, we talked about using a privacy code but didn't and it wasn't really necessary.

Putting aside, for a moment, powertrains, personalities, politics and even aesthetics, from what little I know about the material properties of stainless steel vs mild carbon steel, I guess rendering a ‘36 Ford in stainless might be a whole lot harder to do than the flat contours of the Cybertruck.

Appreciate that. It would have been near impossible to hold a loose nut on the back of the panel mounting plate. With the nutserts, it can easily be placed or removed with three M5 screws. You can’t see it in the pic, but I did need to use a stand off sleeve for the right hand screw.

I agree that once you have more than a couple of accessories an aux fuse block is essential. Its a bit of a fuss but worth it when you are done. I just have a few extras in this truck (heated seats, rear ARB locker, gauges and light inside the canopy) but it would be a mess without the extra...

Woodrow's 97 Green TJ Moderate Build

The 16 year old tow rig (08 Dodge 3500 4x4 Cummins 6.7 Quad Cab) has been needing some electrical attention and Moab is coming up so its past time to bust it out. 1) Cleanup some sloppy wiring done by “pros”. There were several small gauge wires routed directly to the driver side battery so I...

    What Can I Do Myself?

As others have said, with your starting skill set and desire you can do all of that and more. This forum and youtube are phenomenal resources. 5 years ago, my automotive skillset wasn’t so different than what you describe and there isn’t much I haven’t done on my on TJ at this point. If it...

    05 Flame Red TJ Build

I didn’t realize wrangler fix did tunes. Of it makes sense. Why did you pick that over say Flyin’ Ryan?

    It just happened!

Mine sounds like it was more subtle. But highly annoying. It took me forever to figure it out. The fix for me was pull the Carli ball joints and replace with stock style joints.

Re #1 How much does the LJ weigh now? Re #2 If caster and toe and tires (pressure and tread wear) are good, then I think about “memory steer” which is a term I’ve heard referring to poor on center stability due to excessively tight steering components. I had this problem with Carli ball joints...

Mine is a 97 with the saginaw box and unlike last year, I now have warn steering skid which mostly encloses the bottom. Increased heat isn’t something I’ve thought to worry about with the skid. Also, heat rises and its not covered on top. 🤷‍♂️

Yep. I've considered bolting a piece (or 2) of angle iron on the inside of the UCF skids.

1/4" or 3/8" and how much drop? I bent my UCF 1/4" aluminum skid with 2.5" drop last year (they call it the "no body lift skid"). I went with a Genright crossmember and 3/8" aluminum UCF DIY skid with 1" drop after that. With that skid/X-member set up and a Savvy BL, I was able to fit an Atlas...
