Jeep Jamboree unusual rig requirement

I‘ve never been to Moab so probably not the best person to comment on this. Tire size isn’t everything, I think I’d rather see someone with 35” with a Dana 44 axle then someone who just lifted a Jeep, cut fenders etc to fit 40” on Dana 35 axle. Personally I think the second option is more prone to trouble then the first one everything else being equal.

Maybe we should all sign up. Or show up and crash the party with a couple hundred TJs.

A sit in is a sit in, a picket line is a picket line... what's a vehicular protest?

Save your money, just crash it, and bruise egos for free. If its on public land they cant close the area. You can run their route, watch the shit show, and not be part of the official run. I do this about twice a year 😃 .

But honestly, when I go to Moab I make sure there aint a couple hundred people there because that sucks the fun out of it🙃

Well if you're looking for suggestions I'd start with running any (or all) of the back country discovery routes.

We just finished the WABDR. Totally epic run. Hardly saw anyone on the trip.

Funny, I've done the southern Arizona BDR with out knowing it was a route. The whole BDR sounds interesting.

I would do CAL4WHELL Sierra Trek 2 people under $500 and a terrific trail and event and save the extra $2,000.00

  • RUN REGISTRATION SIERRA TREK

    $225/$235 per person
Includes one run, Thursday dinner, Friday breakfast and dinner, Saturday breakfast and dinner, Sunday breakfast, camping, one raffle ticket, one dash plaque. Children 7-15 $60.

One of my best work buddies, AKA redheaded stepdad was one of the founding members of a group from Placerville, California that started the Rubicon Jamberee. He used to cook and help repair jeeps on the trail. He said the jeeps were all MBA's and CJ's then. I felt very fortunate to be able to take him and his girlfriend back in the early 90's and do parts of the trail so he could experience it again. He would literally turn over in his grave, and I'm sure most of those founding members would. I always thought I wanted to do a Jamberee, now I think it's way over rated for what it is.
AFAIK the Rubicon Jeepers Jamboree is still open to TJs, is still adult oriented, and is still unpolluted by Jeep Jamboree USA.

Just checked out the website . That’s right up my alley . I’m putting it on my calendar for next year ! Affordable as well(y)

Damn. It looks like the Moab jeep expedition is run through jeep jamboree. 2007 jeeps and newer plus 37" minimum tires. $1995 for the driver and $425 per passenger. Oh, and bring your own lunch and drinks. You do get a departing dinner though!!

Fuck them and their jamboree, those large group rides are a pain in the ass anyway, you spend more time sitting in line then wheeling by a large margin. I have never been a fan of large group rides, but that's just me.

While I don't disagree with the sentiment, at the Rubicon Jamboree which I have done a few times, that is just logistically not possible due to the length of the trail. If you spend more time in line than you do wheeling, may as well camp at the dam because you ain't gonna get to the springs.

Im really anti huge organized run. You are spending money to sit in traffic and your not going to see a lot. And/or its just slooow going and your eating dust all day. Ive done two in Moab and one on the Rubicon. And the first day on all of them I ask myself why TF am I here.

If I was paying to play I would absolutely go with these guys. Their tours are beyond epic. Private and group tours so the numbers are much smaller.

I got invited to do a Jeep tour 9/5-11 but I cant make it. 700-800 dirt miles beginning in Springdale Utah and traveling all the way to Moab. You get to see 5 Utah National Parks.

This looks like it is a side by side outfit, Did I miss something?

Think about the people or group that's putting on the event. They are making a crap ton of money from people that want to pay it. TJ owners are mostly broke :poop:. If I could make people feel elite and that they are feeling good spending their money to feel that way, then I wouldn't care what the other groups think. $$$
