One of the hinge pins on my recently acquired half doors has a bad hinge pin (broken off threads). I haven't tried yet, but can that pin just be popped out and replaced?
Why do you need the threads? Once I took the nuts off the pins, I never reinstalled them...doors have stayed on just fine.
If you do replace them, they have a knurl at the top. You can try to whack then out with a hammer...I tried, but scratched my door. I ended up pulling the hinges, placing the in a vice, and beating the shit out of them. Mine were rusty though...YMMV
X2, no worries about the missing threads for the hinge pin nut. I haven't had hinge pin nuts on my TJ in 21 years.
Door thief? Wow...fine people you must have around. Who would steal a door?Ya, I could just leave the nuts off, but since the doors will only be on with no top at all, I think the nuts will slow down a door thief, maybe just a little, but some.
I can think of somebody in North Cali who might be keen on 'borrowing 'a pair of white half doors heheDoor thief? Wow...fine people you must have around. Who would steal a door?

@CodaMan go nutless !! they only get in the way anyway![]()
Haha, I was thinking the same thing. You'd have to be quite the thief to make off with a pair of doors!
This is California, they'll steal anything. I've had 2 pickups stolen and one tailgate, one of the pickups they pushed 2 blocks because they couldn't get past my fuel cutoff. In fact my neighbors kids saw them pushing it at 3 AM and told the cops he thought it was me. SAD!
and BTW, I live in the great neighborhood. I guess if you want to steal good stuff go to a good place.
Seriously? That's crazy. Where are you at when this happened? I park my TJ in the garage every day and night, so there's no real way for anyone to steal anything off of it, unless it happened when I was out at dinner or running an errand I suppose.
My TJ stays in the garage, but the 2 stolen vehicles and the tailgate were stolen from my driveway.
Edit: and I was home each time
I’m doorless when topless and doors with top, so I put the nuts away in a safe place if I ever sell it. Love it.
I've never seen those before, great idea.I can’t believe there’s that little concern for doors winding up in some thieves scummy hands! Here, in Jersey, I’ve heard of a few Jeepers losing doors. I’ve got Mcgard door pin ‘locks’ on mine, just for a little added security.
