Rubber Intake Vacuum Line Elbow

Does anyone know what part number the rubber elbow for this vacuum line on the 4.0 intake manifold is (see picture) and where I can buy a new one? Thanks!

Is the hose bad? You may need to replace the whole thing. Are you talking about one of these lines?

Dorman makes one. I lost the part # after I replaced mine. Electrical tape worked for a year with no evap codes.

The hose doesn't appear bad, just the rubber connector. Here's a better picture. The connector itself is brittle and seems to be cracked. Also when I ran a smoke test, smoke came out of the hole it's connected to. I'm also hearing a whistle with the throttle so I'm thinking it could be the bad rubber connector.

Anyone know if this is something orderable on it's own?

Also curious if anyone knows what this line does. It looks like it runs all the way to the fuel tank.

There is another similar thread about these little things. Blaine suggested silicone vacuum tubing that I've found on ebay inexpensively. A short section works fine as an elbow. I think 5/16" would work for that elbow but it can't hurt to measure it. Dorman makes a universal kit that includes a bunch but finding the right size can be a pain.

LukeH did you ever find a resoultion for this?? I am having the same issue. I even tried to go to the dealership and they told me new parts for this are no longer available (manufacturing is discontinued). I have looked through several online sources and can not find a solution.

I replaced mine with a 90* spark plug boot. I had the same crumbling apart issue.

I'm having the same issue with the same elbow. The problem with replacing it with some kind of tubing is that the two ends have different diameters; the little tube coming out of the intake manifold is a smaller diameter than the tube that is connected to the bottom of the elbow. Any new ideas?

My 4.0 doesn’t have that line, but I just replaced a couple other vacuum lines. Mine are brittle and snapped when I pulled my motor. The eBay silicone tube has a lot of flex. I was able to use it when the diameters at each end were very different. I just ordered the diameter for the small side and it stretched over the big side.

My 2001 Sport gave an evap code and traced it down to a rubber elbow coming from the canister. Took it off and gave it several complete wraps of duct-tape some years back and all good...worked and cheap!

You will need to measure to get the right size for what you need but here is the one I ordered:

I use the dorman 1/4” 90. It’s about 2” long on each end. Fit over the two different size tubes

I did the same. Just picked up a variety pack of Dorman 90* elbows at O’Reilly’s and used the one that fit best.

Front 1/4 port to 5/16 tube (to evap canister in rear) Dorman 47092............(1/4" both ends)

Mid 3/8 port to 5/16 tube (to purge valve)......................... "............."...............(will stretch)

Purge valve 5/16 tube to 5/16 port..................................... "............."...............(will stretch)

Rear 3/16 port to 5/32 (to cruise & A/C-heater)............Dorman 47411...........(9/64" x 5/32") (9/64" should stretch over 3/16")
