Car pics too cool not to share

Most Mopar guys didn't run 'em, as wheel hop and such wasn't an issue. The axle sat far enough forward of the halfway point of the leaf springs that you just didn't suffer the ill effects that some of the other brands did. I never ran a set, but I was always running a Mopar of some sort.

I was more of a Chevy & Ford guy in my younger years. Now I've gotten more of an affection for MoPar rigs.

Wow! Lots going on before your ears ever heard the clatter! ;)

Another thing I miss about the older ones - the 220D I learned to drive on as well as the 240D I owned for several years: Listening to the valve train. I could tell when the camshaft was "floating" - not being pulled by acceleration, not being braked by de-acceleration. There was a particular sound those engines made when that was occurring. My '85 does the same thing as its the same series engine - BUT - there is so much sound insulation that I can't hear it.

It's not often that I see folks use the correct "writing" of the MoPar name. I had actually done it correctly, and then went back and changed it, figuring folks would think it was a typo. I shan't do that again! ;)

I wonder if I'em hearing something similar with my Cummins? There's just a sweet spot where there's something of a lull in its usual symphonic sounds...;)

If its right where your throttle position is neither accelerating nor de-accelerating, that's probably it. But doesn't the Cummins have hydraulic lifters?
