Sitting here contemplating the hard top / soft top swap for the year...been in the 70s lately, and top down weather is calling. I sorta hate to lose the quiet and security of the hard top, though. Older I get, the less I am inclined to go for the 'wind in my hair' experience. Plus, taking off the hard top means it's time to get those oem half doors painted to match, and find some soft upper doors...decisions, decisions...

I would love a set of half doors for when my top is off. Matched of course. I just can’t seem to find the money while buying a house [emoji23]

I always miss the quiet and security of the hard top. It’s why I still can’t bring myself to buy another soft top.

My luxury SE model came with an awesome hard top that is black, made by bestop, and kind of soft like a soft top, and its really easy to fold down like a soft top is too. It's really the best of both worlds

I will admit....I love my twill soft top, but putting stuff in the back is so much easier with a hard top. I will give it to you on that one occasion; that’s when I prefer a hard top over the twill top lol.

It's pretty much always raining here, so that's one reason I've grown so fond of the hard top. That and when I take road trips with the family, it's definitely much quieter. Don't get me wrong, part of me would love a soft top too, but I've managed to make it work with just the hard top, so I'll use that money I'd be spending on a soft top for something else.

We are a month into Autumn here and I'm still rocking the soft top down and doors off  The met service said we should have a warmer winter than usual too......but that normally brings the rain ...Cant have it all I guess

We had one of the warmest winters on record this year...watching the news each evening about the winter up north and in the northeast was hard to fathom...the drawback is the drought conditions now in play in NM, along with the fire danger around the state. There are tradeoffs in every scenario.

Yeah... My TJ is bundled up in the garage, waiting out this in between stuff... Too much of a chance on getting the dreaded "wintery mix" that causes them to drop 100# of salt per mile on the highway.
