2005 Wrangler Ticking Noise When Decelerating

Hello!
I have a 2005 Jeep Wrangler 6 Spd Manual.

When I decelerate, I am hearing a ticking or clicking at low speeds. Any ideas?

Have you checked your axle u-joints? I'm not saying this is the issue but it could be.

Does it only happen at slow speeds? When you are turning at slow speeds do you hear anything and if so what does it sound like?

I will look those.

Pull the front drive shaft and see if it stops- if it has any miles, and you plan to keep it, rebuild it completely regardless.

you can disconnect at the diff and tie it up for a test- just DO NOT engage 4wd if you do.

I'm not saying that is your issue but I would check them for sure. Do you know when the last time they were replaced? Along with ball joints?

Oh I have no idea, bought it from my dad who put some work into the suspension.

I bought it to learn to work on and driver around town. I don't go far in it, and I work from home.

Does it make the noise with the transmission out of gear / with the clutch depressed?

Thats awesome I think. Something you can learn on, work on and get comfortable turning wreches with.
They are great vehicles to learn on as they are pretty straight forward and the Jeep community is always helpful.

You are going to do great with it.

Any luck with this? I’ve a got a similar ticking/clicking that keeps pace with the tire rotation. I can’t reproduce the sound with it up in jacks either.
I’ve checked for rocks in the tires…

Mine makes the noise when in neutral and doesn’t change with an RPM increase.
