I expected it to end in an eletrical fire or some smoke at the very least
A buddy of mine has a new model Y. I was a passenger in the driver's seat, while the self driving function did its 15 mile trip through Fort Myers. I had trust issues at first, but the self driving worked well. I'd never buy one, but my wife, who has severe, chronic road rage from PNW drivers, would probably live an extra decade if she had one.

500 miles so far on the new to me gasser car. I get 32 mpg city, 34 hwy. Compared to my wife's hybrid getting 36 city, 20-31 hwy.
Not buying any car that takes software updates to work, or can be shut out of repairs or charging via corporate downloads.
I have an infotainment center, but it's dumbed down and basically only pairs with my phone so I can stream music and has a backup camera.
Speaking of updates, my phone updated this week and Galaxy AI keeps highlighting random parts of text and creates links out of them to see if I want to translate it or need help writing. I turned off every AI thing added in the update but it still does it. So "now" or "one" has the "no" or "on" turned into a blue link. I can't use dark mode anymore because it turns words into unreadable text.
About ready to punt on tech. I hope a techless EV with a small range extender engine gets built someday. But I doubt it. BMW i3 like but less computer and electronic stuff more EV range, bigger tank on the extender.

It figures the only reason he had it in the first place was virtue signaling.
The guy has some good car engineering videos but got kind of EV preachy.
Musk was an idiot for getting too political. But the Biden admin was too for slowing down SpaceX with useless regs and studies and snubbing Tesla for the Big 3 when talking about EVs. Now the Big 3 are basically giving up EVs and small cars anyway.
We would see a huge market shift if .gov would cancel all car regs and let the market free. Small cheap but high fuel efficient cars and mini trucks would come back. Maybe some low tech high range EVs.

He’s also got a GT350 so maybe there’s some life in him after all.
I'm hesitant to call Musk an idiot. He won't sell many cars if the US is taken over by communists.
I think more businesses should consider this.
