Washington Washington members that live to wheel

Every time I think it's finally getting healed up I'll find new spots that are breaking out.....

Wish I was going to have my motorhome back by then..... I'm a wimp now and like my creature comforts...

Completely understand. I hit 50 this year and tent camping is getting old. I wish I had something more comfortable besides cots.

Well I've got you by 15 years plus a LOT of years sleeping on the ground wrapped up in a wobbie........ And missing part of a leg to boot... Which makes it that much harder....

If & when I get the motorhome back there is a front bunk you can use....

So are we officially canceling next week?

-Mac

No....
Brandon & Jeremy are still going... 100% for sure....

If I go I'll be heading up Tuesday.... I've got a doctors appointment in Yakima Tuesday @11AM so there isn't any reason to drive to Yakima and then come back home...
I'll just tow the Jeep to my appointment and then head on up to Naches from there... Can go shopping at Fred Meyers off 40th Ave on the way out of Yakima.
Might just have to put up with the squeaks and pops of the Jeep...

I've got stiff and dry JJs, so you won't be alone. That'll be the next project when we get back.

I'm going to "try" to remember to bring my JJ tool with me..

No worries if you don't, I should probably just buy them. Of course, I'm buying doors (money I didn't need to spend) and I'm having to rent a trailer for my trip tomorrow. My father-in-law and I share the trailer and we both ended up needing it at the same time. But maintenance costs don't count because it's necessary!

Well you can at least get the large ones done once before you have to buy the tool... I shouldn't need it for a few...

But I wouldn't want to try greasing them in that dirt either.

If I can borrow them and mail them back that would be cool. But like I said to Rick, eventually I'm going to have to buy them.

You can hold onto mine until we do another run together...

Well guys I'm still on the fence about if I'm coming next week or not... And honestly at this point I won't have an answer until Wednesday morning when I get up and see what my leg looks like then...Right now the rash I have is 95% gone but every time up until now that I thought it was cleared up I'd breakout again.

I've got to do some checking on a few things on my Jeep too... My dual battery switch stopped working so I need to make sure it's not harming things.
The squeaks and rattles I can live with.. The other thing is to check to see if my air spring is still rubbing and if it is how much... While I've got spares I'd rather not ruin another one if possible...

Sorry to be on the fence...

No worries, your health takes priority! You deal with stuff that we can't begin to understand.

I'm going to be squeaky and creaky too. I don't think it's anything that will fall apart, but definitely annoying. I noticed I've got a slight interference with a bolt on my tie rod scratching my steering damper at full lock, so I need to try and adjust that a hair. And I'm going to try and trim my front lower shock mounts a bit to eliminate some interference with my control arms on full droop. I've got a lot to accomplish before I can head out. And I just realized this morning that I need to do yard work too 😐

For @bbaldwin237 or @macleanflood do either of you have a steering box brace on you box?

I've got the one that was mounted on mine that I can't use anymore since doing the TNT steering box rotation. If one of you would like it let me know.

It's just frustrating at times...

@Wildman I do not have one. I've looked at them a time or two and wondered if they're worth it. I know the XJ/WJ/etc folks use them a lot with the unibody. Might not be a bad idea until I can get to hydro assist.

I was going to say too, if you're able to make it and need help working on anything in camp I think I'll be there before the others and am more than happy to help out.

I don't think we have the same issues tat the XJ/ZJ/WJ folks do but I do think it helps take some of the strain off the trackbar frame side mount... I ran mine for 4 years before I had hydro-assist. If I can find it I'll throw it into my truck.

Since you'll be there Wednesday evening then yes I think we'll be the only ones there on Thursday... Other than maybe Mac?

@JMT said he was heading out early Thursday. Jeremy, are you showing up ready to wheel that day?

I think @macleanflood actually may be coming over Wednesday too to wheel Thursday?

OK going back and looking @JMT said he would be there around noon on Thursday.... I think he has to work Wednesday evening until 2030 or something like that.

I'll probably be free Sunday afternoon. Hoping we get this engine fixed today.

Might drop in on @Wildman.

Ready to wheel whenever. I took the week off. Love to do something Tuesday Wednesday Thursday.

Need to head home Thursday night or Friday morning early. Creek and Trail.

As things are looking now if I do make it I won't head over until Wednesday morning sometime and then get camp setup in the afternoon so we could hit some trails on Thursday.

I know you're tentative, but do we want to talk about trail plans? I think Jeremy wants to do Funny Rocks and Moon Rocks and I would like to as well. The Summit Trail and CJRs hideout as re over that way that are listed as moderate.
